President’s Message – October 2023
Greetings!
I hope you will enjoy the review of the Cheng² Duo on October 13 as prepared by Sandra Wilmot, a violinist and teacher at the Kelowna Community Music School; it is reproduced below. (The review originally ran in The Kelowna Daily Courier.) I found it very thoughtful and insightful. Thanks, Sandra!
As an audience member, it was wonderful to be back at the Mary Irwin Theatre with our attentive and appreciative audience after a long summer hiatus. I’m happy to report that we had a successful renewal campaign this year and also found more than thirty new subscribers to join our convivial group of music lovers.
We are delighted to continue our program of subsidized tickets for students at the Kelowna Community Music School this season. It’s important that aspiring musicians hear the best professional practitioners in performance. Even if they choose another career path, they will be the audience members of the future. Our thanks to Lawson Lundell LLP who sponsor this worthwhile program again this year.
We have a number of important reminders below for attendees at the October 13 concert and a look ahead to the Gala launch of the Arnold Draper Awards for Young Artists coming up in December.
With all best wishes,
Diane
P. Diane Bond, President.
