Chamber Music Kelowna recognizes the financial challenges young musicians may face as they strive
to finish their studies and launch a professional performing career. To this end, CMK is pleased to
announce the creation of the Chamber Music Kelowna Arnold Draper Fund for Young Artists with
the Central Okanagan Foundation. The income from this fund will assist young musicians who are
pursuing a career in classical music.
In establishing this fund, CMK wishes to recognize Arnold Draper’s contributions to the professional
development of many emerging artists over the years as teacher, coach and performing colleague. CMK
launched this initiative in honour of Arnold’s 80th birthday in April 2020 and to acknowledge his years of service, contributing in so many ways to the enrichment of the tradition of classical music throughout the Okanagan.
More information about this award will be made available with the launch of the 2021/2022 Concert Season.
The Board of CMK has designated up to $10,000 of the Society’s Members’ Surplus to match our
supporters’ contributions to this fund. The Society will establish an endowment with the Central
Okanagan Foundation in 2021 to fund this program annually.
