Since its founding in 2001, the Montreal-based ensemble has promoted the creation of
new works incorporating musical elements of diverse musical traditions around the
world, drawing from medieval manuscripts to a contemporary aesthetic, passing by
Mediterranean Europe to Eastern traditions and New World Baroque. The ensemble
has 23 albums to its credit and has created 63 works and travelled to more than 296
cities in 59 countries. Their Kelowna program will feature soprano Hana Blazikova
singing arrangements of some of the most beautiful spiritual songs and arias of JS Bach
in dialogue with poems of Omar Khayyam, in Persian, set to music by Kiya Tabassian.
