The Busch Trio’s artistic identity was shaped early on when violinist Mathieu van Bellen began
performing on the historic 1783 G.B. Guadagnini “ex-Adolf Busch,” inspiring the trio’s
admiration for early-twentieth-century chamber traditions, reflected also in their choice
to perform on gut strings.
Praised by critics for their “effortless musicianship” and captivating ensemble playing,
they appear regularly at leading festivals and concert halls across Europe and North
America. Their celebrated recordings for Alpha Classics, including works by Dvořák,
Schubert, Ravel, and Shostakovich, have further established their reputation.
