President’s Letter – December 2025
Dear Friends –
Celebrating the Season with CMK
Well, winter has certainly arrived and, though it seems impossible, the holidays are almost here. We hope you will be joining us for CMK’s toast to the season on December 12 with the a cappella ensemble, amarcord from Germany. We have just learned that one of the amarcord ensemble members has been taken ill and cannot travel with his colleagues on their long-planned North America tour. They will be a quartet, therefore, and their planned program is changing somewhat. There is always a challenge, it seems, but that’s show biz!
Special thanks to this performance’s sponsor, Canada West Realty and their President, Sonja Janzen. The loyalty of our sponsors is a key pillar of our success.
Ticket Availability
The December 12 performance is SOLD OUT but you can always check to see if there are any returns in the days before the performance at theboxoffice.ca. Or you can call 250-469-8940 during business hours. And, if you are a ticketholder but find yourself unable to attend, please call the Box Office to donate your seat(s) for resale so another music-lover can enjoy the performance. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation.
A Gift Idea
If you have a lover of string ensembles on your holiday gift list, we have an idea. CMK’s upcoming concerts with the Sitkovetsky Trio (February 21) and the Balourdet Quartet (April 18) are offered as a pair for the attractive package price of $110. This offer is available only until December 24, so act now to secure seats for a season that has already featured a number of sell-outs!
Year-end Reflections
Finally, I’d like to take a moment at this very busy time to express our Board’s heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful support of our subscribers, donors and volunteers. During a year that has had its griefs, as well as its triumphs, your volunteer board has been sustained by the belief that you appreciate the concerts CMK offers, and that you enjoy being part of our community of dedicated music-lovers. You make it all worthwhile.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!
Diane
