President’s Message – May 2023
Hello CMK Friends!
I hope you were able to attend and enjoy the final concert of our 2022-23 Main Series. As we confidently expected, the Montrose Trio performed their varied and exciting program con brio on April 29th to a capacity audience. What a way to wrap up a successful season!
RCA staff and several audience members noted that the venue was overly warm and we are sorry if some found the heat a bit much (those in the back of the auditorium, where I like to sit, were most affected). On investigation, we learned that the problem was the City’s HVAC system which was not working as it should in the Mary Irwin Theatre and some other City-owned buildings. We trust this problem will not occur again.
We hope CMK’s wonderful subscribers enjoyed our annual pre-concert reception in appreciation of your loyalty and enthusiasm. We are so delighted that our audiences have returned to pre-pandemic numbers. Given all the uncertainty of the last few years, it is a joy and a relief!
Most 2022-23 subscribers picked up their 2023-24 renewal packages at the April 29th event and the remaining addressed packages have been mailed. If you have not received your personalized envelope in person or in the mail, please email us at [email protected] and we will rush it to you.
We are very excited about the 44th Season of CMK concerts (dates and artists are summarized below). If you are not yet a subscriber and would like to receive our 2023-23 season subscription offer in hard copy, please email us your contact information (mailing address and phone number) and we’ll send it.
Between now and the new main season opener on October 13th, CMK’s Concerts in the Community will resume in mid-June. See below for program, dates and locations. We hope to see you at Metro Hub, Quail’s Gate or Bright Jenny Coffee House June 16th to 18th!
