The Borealis String Quartet is known to audiences for its scintillating, beautiful playing. This quartet has a “combination of superb musicality and impressive technique”- the Winnipeg News. Touring North America, Europe and Asia to sold-out audiences, the Borealis String Quartet wows audiences in live performances and with its critically acclaimed recordings. This quartet served as String Quartet-in-Residence at UBC for many years and later at Kwantlen University. Founded in Vancouver, the Borealis works closely with commissioned composers, notably the renowned Okanagan composer, Imant Raminsh. In this concert, the Borealis String Quartet will perform one of Imant Raminsh’s compositions, with the composer present.
